Oklahoma City's Transportation Resources, Inc., a heavy-duty truck dealer with over three decades in business, is facing a significant challenge in hiring qualified technicians. The company, renowned for selling and fabricating truck parts globally, is hindered by a shortage of employees, leaving a backlog of sales and extending work hours.

Owner Allen Eng, offering competitive starting packages, struggles to understand the lack of interest in these positions.  Despite partnerships with local vocational schools yielding some success, the demand for more skilled workers persists. The Oklahoma Department of Commerce notes that this issue is widespread, affecting various industries across the region.
